In February 2021, the WAY Radio listeners in Jacksonville and in Brunswick provided the funding needed to construct a community center. The WAY Radio community center in Alto de la Jagua will provide discipleship programs, including the Boys’ Life Basketball Discipleship program. It will provide a meeting place for the 200 children in the village to learn about Jesus while being afforded the opportunity to have programs that will challenge them to avoid the traditional traps of poverty in the Dominican Republic. In these few years, the listeners of WAY Radio have provided the funds to support a mission that is changing lives in the Dominican Republic. It started with a community center that allows the village of Alto de la Jagua to meet to hear the Gospel as well as provide a place for the children to play basketball and learn trades that will help them provide for their family and avoid the street life that steals the innocence of so many children in the D.R. In the years since, donations from listeners have been supporting the village missionaries and providing access to the center. May 2026 Cups Mission
Jose Luis and Danny are regularly meeting with the parents and visiting senior adults in the village on Thursday evenings In this meeting, we discussed the time of METANOIA, and the brothers and sisters shared what God had spoken to them. We saw them full of faith, and they commented that they would begin to pray and save for the next METANOIA. Then we began reading the book of Acts (Acts chapter 7). Providing needed nutrition to the children in Alto de la Jagua, Dominican Republic.
March 2026 Update
Cups Mission Give to Cups Mission today God continues to raise up leaders that have participated in the discipleship program. Miguelina’s story is just one of them. She is learning English and doing very well. My name is Miguelina. I’ve been in cups when I was 15 years old, and I work in the sewing programs too. When I was a teenager, I came in the discipleship and then went to the university and I am. Studied business administration. I was born in a Christian family but when I’m not in the discipleship program, I didn’t know Jesus and now I know Jesus in my life and I accepted Jesus and then when I finished my university. I’m working in another place and they finished. I come to Rio Vista and I work here with the CUPS Mission and I say thank God thank God because I’m here and I know all of the people are here for service and I appreciate that.
Cups Mission July ’25 Update
Bible camp is under way and many kids are growing in their faith because of your support. The theme this year is Conquerors. Please pray for our student leaders as they lead. Pray for the teams still heading down to serve in the Dominican Republic.
June 2025 Update
Bible camps in the Dominican Republic are beginning this week. Please pray for the children to hear and accept Christ. Also pray that parents will hear the Good News and be transformed. Leader training for bible camp that starts this week in the DR. Pray for all of the leaders who give selflessly.
April Update
At The CUPS Mission, they know each person has inherent worth because they were created in the image of God. We want to come alongside children in the Dominican to disciple them, provide for them, give them an education, serve them, and empower them to choose a vocation that they desire for their lives. They want to give them all the resources they need to build a life they dream of and prevent them from having to choose sexual exploitation from the lack of other choices. A team was recently praying for women in the Red Light District in Sousa. One of the ladies on the team had come last year and prayed with women. A woman on the street recognized the team member, came up to her and showed her the cross she gave her last year, thanked her and told her she carries it all the time. Please pray for these women on the streets in Sousa.
