Spring Sharathon Thursday, April 10, 2025

Are you ready to give Now? CLICK HERE When it comes to giving to God’s work, one of the most common responses is: “I can’t afford to give right now.” For most of us, we CAN afford to do what we really want to do. We do whatever it takes to pay for what’s most important. It’s not that we can’t give, it’s that we choose NOT to give. At WAY Radio, we are so thankful that there are many people who CHOOSE to give to WAY Radio financially. Those partners keep the Gospel going out through WAY Radio, and we know that God has used WAY Radio to provide for spiritual growth for many … maybe even you! Sharathon is a time for all of us to provide for one of the things that is important in your life, relevant Bible teaching. There are so many people who still need to be impacted, and we’re excited to partner alongside you. In fact, we “Praise God For That”. Sharathon is scheduled for Thursday April 10th, from 6am to 6pm. Our theme is “Praise God For That” which reminds us that we have so much to be thankful for … individually, as a community, and as a radio station. If you’re willing to help us this year, financially, so that we can continue to share God’s word with those who tune in, we’d love you to pray, asking God what HE wants YOU to do to help the community through WAY Radio. If you feel led to help, you can get your gift of support in now, simply by going to the “donation” page, just CLICK HERE Your early gifts will be used to encourage others to give during the on-air portion of our fundraiser. Thanks so much for clicking the link above now!

How are we funded?

Learn more about WAY Radio If you’re new to our family, there are some things that you should know.  You often hear us talk about being listener supported, and you might wonder exactly what that means.  It only takes about $500,000 a year to run WAY Radio, and it comes from basically 3 different sources.  We’re a 501-c-3 organization, so many of our listeners send tax-deductible donations, and that is more than 60% of our revenue.  Some, but not all, of the programs you hear share with us the donations they get from you … that’s about 25% of our revenue.  The remaining 15% comes from area businesses who want to associate with us because they too love our programming.  So, in essence almost 100% of the revenue to WAY Radio comes from listeners, either directly, through a program, or a business owner.  All of the money that comes in supports the relevant Bible teaching of WAY Radio.

Tell us your story!

Your story is being written by the ultimate author and Creator-God! Has the teaching on WAY Radio been a part of “your story”? If so, please share with us! As a result others will be encouraged by what has been written in YOUR life.

Tell Your Story

Make no mistake about it: Your story matters. Don’t be afraid to tell it! There is an enemy, the devil, who doesn’t want you to tell what God has done in your life. He wants you to keep it bottled up and hidden away. He doesn’t want you to tell how you traded in your broken pieces for a beautiful masterpiece. But if we listen to the wrong voice, we will make the wrong choice. The devil will do everything he can to keep us silent, yet the Bible says God’s people will overcome the devil “by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” Revelation 12:11, NKJV Your story is important for you and for others. Imagine if someone is going through what you have already been through. You could be such an encouragement. What if something you heard on WAY Radio could help another. You surly would want to help them. YOUR STORY MATTERS! Tell us your story HERE

What’s Your Why?

Oftentimes at our jobs, we get wrapped up in what we do. You may sell a product or make a product. Here, we present the Gospel, we read the news, we share life. Too often, we forget about the why.  Why do we do what we do? WAY Radio exists to share the Gospel through Bible teaching and Christian music so that believers, hopefully you, will be encouraged in your faith … OR so that unbelievers, could be you, will be converted to faith in Jesus.  Why do we exist? To help you grow closer to Jesus.  The WHY is more important than the WHAT. We’re here for you. Thanks for being part of our family, the WAY Radio family of stations.

Year-end Giving

wayradio.org/donate WAY Radio is so thankful for your support! We often spoil ourselves and our family members during this time of year. You can shower the First Coast with the gift of Relevant Bible teaching all year long. Your Year-end giving is a great way to show your support for that teaching. With your gifts you can inspire and encourage thousands of people across the First Coast and even around the globe. That’s Bible teaching that helps people strengthen their relationship or even begin a relationship with Jesus Christ. Without your gifts the Bible teaching on WAY Radio would not even be possible. So, Thank you! Your year-end gifts will go a long way to keep WAY Radio strong. Won’t you consider a gift today? wayradio.org/donate

Here’s something you might like to know… I’m not sure whether you enjoyed history class in school, but here is a little history of WAY Radio. AM 550 signed on the air back in 1960 from a little trailer on Blanding Blvd in Orange Park. After 63 years of faithfully proclaiming the Gospel through WAY Radio, we’re now on five frequencies heard all over the First Coast. Through generous financial partners WAY Radio added 103.3 and 104.9 FM in Jacksonville and a couple of years ago added AM 1420 and FM 96.5 in St Augustine. America’s oldest city has since 2021 had effective Bible teaching from today’s top speakers coming from right there in St. Johns County. If you have friends living in St. Augustine, be sure to let them know about YOUR station. More convenient than ever before in St. Augustine … AM 1420 and FM 96.5, part of the WAY Radio family of stations.

Happy Veterans Day

Thank You Veterans! Thank you for your service. Thanks you for counting the cost and going anyway. Thank you for sacrificing of your time and energy. Thank you for sacrificing you normal family life. Happy Thanksgiving

Here are some Bible verses about thanksgiving and gratitude, as well as verses about praise—a fitting combination for your holiday festivities that recalls a line from a popular Thanksgiving psalm, “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise” (Psalm 100:4). Thanksgiving is also a good time to reflect on what the Scriptures say about the harvest. These verses remind us to thank God for the bounty laid before us, both physically and spiritually. Happy Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving Bible Verses About Gratitude Matthew 13:16“But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.” 1 Chronicles 16:34“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” Colossians 3:15“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” Colossians 4:2“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” 1 Corinthians 1:4“I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.” 2 Corinthians 9:11“You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” 1 Timothy 4:4-5“For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, because it is consecrated by the word of God and prayer.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Jonah 2:9“But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say, ‘Salvation comes from the Lord.’” Psalm 28:7“The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.” Psalm 50:14“Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving and perform your vows to the Most High.” Thanksgiving Bible Verses About the Harvest Psalm 4:7“You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound.” 1 Corinthians 9:10“Surely he says this for us, doesn’t he? Yes, this was written for us, because when farmers plow and thresh, they should be able to do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest.” 2 Corinthians 9:10“Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.” Galatians 6:9“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Isaiah 9:3“You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest, as soldiers rejoice when dividing the plunder.” Jeremiah 5:24“They do not say to themselves, ‘Let us fear the Lord our God, who gives autumn and spring rains in season, who assures us of the regular weeks of harvest.’” Psalm 67:6“The earth has yielded its produce; God, our God, blesses us.” Proverbs 18:20“From the fruit of their mouths people’s stomachs are filled; with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied.” Revelation 14:15“Then another angel came out of the temple and called in a loud voice to him who was sitting on the cloud, ‘Take your sickle and reap, because the time to reap has come, for the harvest of the earth is ripe.’” Thanksgiving Bible Verses About Praise Colossians 3:16“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.” Hebrews 12:28-29“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ‘God is a consuming fire.’” 1 Chronicles 16:23-26“Sing to the Lord, all the earth; proclaim his salvation day after day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens.” 1 Chronicles 29:13“And now we thank you, our God, and praise your glorious name.” Hebrews 13:15“Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.” Psalm 28:7“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him.” Psalm 56:4“In God, whose word I praise—in God I trust and am not afraid. What can mere mortals do to me?” Psalm 69:30“I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify him with thanksgiving.” Psalm 89:1-2“I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations. I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.” Psalm 95:1-3“Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation! Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.” Psalm 92:1-3“It is good to praise the Lord and make music to your name, O Most High, proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night, to the music of the ten-stringed lyre and the melody of the harp.” Psalm 100:4“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” … Read more

Crossover Cups Mission Day

Way Radio DR Fundraiser 2023 *PURPOSE: To provide a sustainable farm, feeding and discipleship program and missionary support for a year Due to the nature of where the Alta De La Jagua is, it’s important to provide a sustainable garden/farm for the people of the village.  Your gift will help to provide chickens and eggs.  This will sustain the people in the village and will also provide a source of income for them per a microbusiness. Your gift will also help provide for the feeding program and the discipleship programs.  It’s important that we help provide for both the physical and spiritual needs of people.  It’s hard to hear about a God that loves you when you haven’t eaten in a few days.  Your gift helps to fund this for a year. To run discipleship and feeding programs, we need missionaries willing to go and invest in the village.  Your gift will also help to fund those missionaries and care for their families as they serve the village of Alta De La Jagua. *Cost Check out the Crossover Cups Documentary below. Thank You for your care for the people of Alto de la Jagua.

Chosen People Ministries with Dr. Mitch Glaser, exists to pray for, evangelize, disciple and serve Jewish people everywhere, and to help fellow Christian believers do the same.  “I was looking for an authentic spirituality, and I imagine you might be interested in the same thing. I hope you might be willing to put aside—at least for a moment—the common belief that you cannot be Jewish and believe in Jesus.” The mission was founded in Brooklyn, New York in 1894 by Rabbi Leopold Cohn, a Hungarian Jewish immigrant with a zeal to share the knowledge of Yeshua (Jesus) the Messiah with God’s chosen people. Today, Chosen People Ministries serves in eighteen countries across the globe. Our outreach programs include evangelism and discipleship, Messianic Centers and congregations, equipping the local church for Jewish evangelism, digital evangelism through our Isaiah 53 Campaigns and I Found Shalom videos, and benevolence work. With your help, we will continue proclaiming the Good News through Jesus the Messiah to Jewish people around the world. Visit Chosen People Ministries

Happy Independence Day

The Fourth of July—also known as Independence Day or July 4th—has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, but the tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution. On July 2nd, 1776, the Continental Congress voted in favor of independence, and two days later delegates from the 13 colonies adopted the Declaration of Independence, a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson. From 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence, with festivities ranging from fireworks, parades, and concerts to more casual family gatherings and barbecues.

BGEA Assessment Team Deployed to Hawaii

SAMARITAN’S PURSE IS WORKING WITH LOCAL CHURCH PARTNERS AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT TO DETERMINE HOW WE CAN HELP IN THE WAKE OF CATASTROPHIC LOSS. Samaritan’s Purse has deployed North American Ministries assessment teams to Hawaii to determine our relief response following deadly wildfires that swept through Maui this week. Billy Graham Rapid Response Team chaplains are also en route to provide emotional support and spiritual comfort to residents reeling in the wake of so much loss.Samaritan’s Purse President Franklin Graham, in a Facebook post Aug. 10, asked people to pray.“Pray for residents, first responders, and leadership in the wake of this devastating disaster,” he said. “We are working with local officials and churches to assess how Samaritan’s Purse Disaster Relief and Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Rapid Response Chaplains can best help.”RECEIVE HAWAII RESPONSE VOLUNTEER UPDATESOn Tuesday, dry conditions prompted fires on the Aloha State’s second largest island–a manageable burn made catastrophic on Wednesday as winds from Category 4 Hurricane Dora swept it into a blaze. Even from its path, trekking more than 1,000 miles south of Honolulu, the storm produced gusts of up to 70 miles per hour across the Islands. They caused Maui’s brushfires to burn out of control. We are working with local emergency management, church partners, and local leaders as we monitor the situation and begin to assess needs in and around the town of Lahaina.Tragically, the historic village, home to more than 13,000 people, was leveled and more than 50 people have died from the blaze. Many residents fled for the ocean as the blaze grew out of control. Lieutenant Governor Sylvia Luke declared a state of emergency for the Islands and the Hawaii National Guard has been mobilized. As the fires were once again brought under control Wednesday night, residents were left mourning the loss of loved ones and of homes and businesses. Please pray for our teams as they work with our partners on the ground to see how Samaritan’s Purse can provide relief in this time of great suffering. This is our second response to Hawaii in recent years, following our 2018 response in the aftermath of catastrophic flooding on Kauai. We will update this page with information on volunteer opportunities as it becomes available in coming days. May Broadcaster: J. Vernon McGee w/ Thru the Bible

Dr. J. Vernon McGee, our founder and teacher, loved to tell the story more than anything else in the world. He began teaching on the radio in 1941, hoping that the San Gabriel Valley and the metropolitan Los Angeles area would pay attention and respond to the wonders of the Bible, simply told. And to his surprise, people listened. because not only is the Bible a good story, and Dr. McGee a good storyteller, but reading through the Bible is also the primary way God draws us to Himself. We hope that in telling our story, we’re really telling your story . . . about the joy you found in walking closer to Jesus . . . about the gratitude you feel for that window of understanding into His Word . . . for the first time you heard the name of Jesus and knew it was Him who you’ve been looking for all along. We are privileged to hear these same stories every day, coming from nearly every nation on earth. Yes, that’s how far God has taken this simple story—to nearly every nation on earth in over 100 languages. This stunning fact alone testifies to the surpassing power of God at work, using simple jars of clay (see 2 Corinthians 4:7). The Thru the Bible story is simple . . . and deep. Just like yours. It’s a story of God reaching down to man—and man, reaching back. We’ll be telling these stories to each other throughout eternity, so you won’t mind if we get in good practice now. We love to tell the Bible’s story . . . the story of Jesus and His love. Join us on the Bible Bus today to hear it again in a new way. We’re saving you a seat.
